WELCOME!

So I have joined Myspace and weplayguitar which is great for connecting with new people. However, owning my own domain and having complete control of my webspace(NO Popups, NO advertisements) CANNOT BE BEAT!

Network Solutions continues to contact me offering to move all my websites to them for a "great deal" after reviewing their services, HYPERMART is still the best!! NS wants more money for less service overall. granted one or two of their features are better, but still for more money. If I, or any of my customers , needed these, hypermart offers them and likely for less money. I have been with Hypermart since 2002 and they have been GREAT!! the hosting company I had my domain with before went out of business with no warning. all my files, images etc were gone with NO NOTICE! Hypermart has proven to be stable and reliable. THANKS AGAIN HYPERMART!!

Enough of my drunken rattling:

I have gotten the idea to write about the events in my life concerning music. How I got interested in playing music, how I started, what bands I was in and who I played music with. My goal is not to hit it big in the music business. After I have a place to record music (b/c I have everything else needed), I want to continue recording the music I have written. I will record them as I originally intended (as best as I can remember on some) without regard to whatever is going on in the music industry at the time. On psalm 42 and collapse I tried to make some of the songs sound alternative (and not 80’s, MY generation).

I will also revamp my Website, Xyz7.com to be mainly music oriented. Currently there is very little music content. I will add ALL currently recorded songs with the differentiation between the ones recorded with a band and the ones I recorded by myself. The ones I did alone will be listed as demos, because they suck way too bad. I have been listening to them, making notes about improvement for next time. For some of those songs, there will not be a next time. I will probably not trash any song completely. My plans involve re-writing verses or writing new music. Definitely improving the songs any way I can.

The method of recording I think will improve the songs 100% over the method of Psalm42 and collapse. On those 2 records, I played guitar along with a metronome for the initial track on all the songs. That made them dry and unemotional. On the next recordings, I will be recording the drums first. This will make it much better than playing along with a metronome. It should make the songs feel more alive also, I’m hoping. The songs just sounded stiff. It made it easy for me since I am not that good of a drummer. This electronic kit should make it very easy for recording this time, much better than the acoustic kit last time. The electronic kit should help cover the fact that I am not that good of a drummer.

I will also list all the writings I make about the music things I have done in life. I might write a summary about some songs also. I am currently refreshing my mind of all the songs I have written. There are many ideas I have not recorded or even played with a band. My goal is to get those recorded even if nothing comes of it. It gives me a hobby and personal fulfillment. Maybe it will help or inspire others.
